This Confederate Issue Shirt, taken as a souvenir after the battle of Port Hudson Louisiana, by Union soldier Joesph Pray as noted by Adolpus Confederate Uniforms, the original osnaburg shirt has a tag that reads” A rebel shirt made of rebel cloth and bought by Joseph Pray with hardtack the day after the capture of Port Hudson.” This accurate recreation of the original, has the same unbleached muslin fabric, the same splits along the sides, and a large patch pocket on the left breast, stand and fall collar and glass buttons, typical of what Confederate Quartermasters issued. Although this particular shirt was at Port Hudson, it is a very common Confederate Depot issue shirt.
We are so excited to finally be able to offer this and “THE HENRY HOLIDAY SHIRT” as both are common types of Confederate issue shirts.

*** We recommend going up a size in these shirts as a few customers have found the shirts to be snug in the shoulders, so if you normally wore a medium, I would get large size.) We are going to alter our patterns for this for future shirts.
