#407NS British Overcoat
The standard British army overcoat from the Crimean War until after the American Civil War, these were run through the blockade into the Confederacy on fast moving blockade runners into ports such as Wilmington NC, Charleston SC, Mobile AL, Galveston TX and others by the tens of thousands, orders began as early as 1861 and continued until the fall of Fort Fisher at Wilmington NC during the last months of the war. One surprising example of the numbers received is that in the winter of 1864 the state of Alabama ordered enough to supply ever single soldier serving within the state borders with one of these overcoats. Not most soldiers but all of them. This is the best and most accurate replica I personally have seen, and I have had one of these for years. This is sized to fit over your uniform shell jacket or coat so order the size you normally order for those. The phot of the Alabama soldier wearing one is from Fredrick Adolphus who was kind enough to allow us to use the photograph.
