#408 Augusta Depot Jacket

$276.00

Created from the original in the National Collection housed at the Smithsonian Institution, this jacket prototype was drafted in exact size, and then mathematically graded up. Construction utilizing our own Blue-grey wool, it captures all aspects of the original garment. The original surviving jacket has Confederate Officers Eagle buttons, which were added by the officer who wore it, we have chosen to use Block “I” buttons as we believe those were likely used as well as other common buttons. The jacket features two belt loops, one has a button closure, the other is sewn in place, the jacket is fully lined with a great amount of hand stitching. The collar has a “hook & eye closure and an inside pocket as well.
The original jacket can be seen on the Fredrick Adolphus Confederate Uniforms website. www.adolphusconfederateuniforms.com “part IV Atlantic Seaboard.”
Numbers of these appear to have been issued to both major armies as well as the Atlantic seaboard troops. This is a good “all around jacket” with many applications for reenacting the mid-war time period.
