Richmond Trousers Jean cloth/ button mule ear pockets

$285.00

RICHMOND CLOTHING BUREAU TROUSERS, made of jean cloth with mule ear pockets with button closure.
The Richmond Clothing Bureau, was located in three primary locations in and around Richmond Virginia, established in late 1861, that supplied uniforms, footwear and other equipment to the Confederate Army, primarily the Army of Northern Virginia, and the surrounding region including occasional shipments to Upper East Tennessee. The Richmond Depot did not issue to the western armies or the deep South, such as the Army of Tennessee.
The trousers issued by the Richmond Depot are similar in design to some prewar civilian trousers, with a back buckle and belt for adjustment to the wearer and squared “mule ear” pockets. Thes trousers are mostly hand stitched and are made from our special production “banded” jean cloth. The banded color variations replicate the “mistakes” commonly seen in wartime originals. These are made by N.J. Sekela.
