Civilian Pistol Holsters

Civilian pistol holsters finished in rust-dyed, leather. Made by C.A. Davisson, these reproductions are based on originals and are available in both left- and right-hand pistol butt to the rear or the front. Many Confederates and civilians wore their pistols for right hand draw with the butt to the rear. An Infantry Officer however generally wore his pistol on his left hip with the butt facing forward, as regulations specified the sword or saber as the primary weapon.
These fit 36. and 44. caliber pistols with the exception of a Colt Walker or obviously a LeMat pistol.
I have had a Spiller & Burr and a Colt Navy in these and there appears to be enough room for a Colt 44 Army as well.
If you bought both holsters for a calvary impression you wear either both holsters butt to the rear or the front as you prefer, as many Confederates prefer both pistols to have the pistol butts facing to the rear.
