Atlanta Depot Holster
Atlanta Depot Confederate Issue Holster Western Theater, government issue holster used by Army of Tennessee troops and others in Western theater of the war, from 1862 onwards. Made of high-quality leather by C.A. Davisson, these are a good choice for cavalry, artillery and line officers or anyone else required to carry a pistol.
This is a style of holster that has been needed for a long time in reenacting the for western soldiers. Each holster is black dyed and stamped with “ATLANTA DEPOT 1862” on the flap.
I have one for myself and the flap holds the pistol in securely, I am confident that my pistol is secure while riding a horse. Currently we only have the right side, pistol butt facing forward as it was intended that the soldier’s saber or sword be on his left and his pistol on the right as it was considered his secondary weapon.
As we all know soldiers often did it however, they wished so in the future we will have a version for wearing on either side butt forward or rearward facing.
For now, we have chosen this version as it was probably the most common.
These work for most standard Colt, Whitney, Spiller & Burr revolvers, both 36 & 44 caliber. At the time of writing this I do not know about Remington or Starr revolvers. Colt Walkers and LeMats will not fit in these.
