CS Drum Canteen

from $43.00

This is the most common style Confederate canteen used during the war from beginning to end on all fronts. Tin Drum canteens of this type were made by various tinkers all over the South even before the war.
This all-tin drum canteen is durable for the field, and I have personally used one these myself. The canteen measures 6" in diameter by 2" deep. These measurements came from an authentic Confederate canteen. This version of the Confederate drum canteen has wide loops, that will accommodate various types of Confederate slings.
* My recommendations for preventing rust, after use, rinse out canteen, then add a half teaspoon of Baking Soda and some warm water, slosh around the insides, then rinse out. Make a wick of paper towels by rolling and twisting up then insert into canteen, leave inside a few minutes remove. Store canteen without cork inside of the spout. This will greatly reduce rust from forming inside your canteen.
