We have offered a set of straps, which was made from the description in the Army Regulations. Photographic evidence shows a wide variety of straps worn during the period, estabishing a range of variation. This pair is reproduced from an original, that was part of a Mexican War era grouping for sale at the Horse Soldier in Gettysburg. 

This initial offering is for a second Lieutenant of infantry and artillery, but other branches and ranks will be will be offered shortly hereafter. Sold in pairs, they are and embroidered in dead silver on 100% dark blue wool, they reflect the austere simplicity of the period.
