Richmond 2nd Bunting Issue Battle Flag
Richmond Battle Flag 2nd Bunting Issue. This is the Army of Northern Virginia Battle Flag issued from 1862 to around early 1864. This version has the correct orange border on three sides as per the originals. This version is based upon the flag carried by the 18th Mississippi Infantry, captured at Willis Church by Colonel Francis Barlow of the 61st New York Infantry. The flag measures 48”X 48” and has the orange border as the original 2nd Issue Flags had. Three hand sewn eyelet holes for attaching to a flag staff. The flag is hand sewn. The bunting is our own custom dyed wool bunting. The stars and white edging are cotton.
Despite being wool this flag catches a breeze easily. This is an accurate reproduction of one the most beautiful flags ever, in my opinion.
