1864 ISSUE Army of Tennessee Battle Flag
The 1864 Battle as ordered for the Army of Tennesse to replace to many different flags in use. General Johnston intended to have all regiments, use this flag, believed to have been made in Dalton Georgia in early 1864. Most regiments were given this type of flag with a few exceptions such as Cleburne’s Division which protested and were allowed to continue using the old Hardee style flag. This flag was carried until the end of the war. The Dalton Issue flags came to be the Confederate flag long after the war. Despite simply being the battle flag of the Army of Tennessee.
This flag is made of our custom dyed wool bunting and measures 36” x 54” inches. The flag has four tie strings as per the originals. Made with machine and hand stitching.by N.J. Sekela.
