Made by C.A. Davisson of high-quality leather, this reproduction is of the Confederate cartridge boxes from the Depot at Augusta Georgia. This version is for .58 or .577 ammunition, each box is complete with 2 tins and a sling. These are also made for belt carry as well. Each box also has an implement pouch for a nipple wrench or etc.
This box is stamped with “AUGUSTA 1862” on the inner flap. This box is very similar to a U.S. cartridge box as the Augusta Depot was in operation before the war.
These were issued to the Army of Tennessee, Army of Nothern Viginia and to units severing in eastern coastal areas. (Note this is from my memory, so if you are concerned its best you research that yourself).
