This book long considered a classic, was written in 1957, and is a great general history of the war from a Southern viewpoint, Includes a Foreword by the great historian Douglas Southall Freeman. This book is very informative and an easy and enjoyable read for anyone. This is one of my favorite books on “The War.” Over 500 pages with some maps, this book was printed in 2023 and appears as brand new condition .
